Olivia has been studying and practicing yoga in one form or another since she was very young. From a very early age, her mother would take her and her brothers to weekly meetings or satsangs. At the age of seven, Olivia was taken to an Ashram in India where she spent time at the feet of her guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. Throughout her formative years, Olivia spent time with Gurumayi in ashrams in India, America and in the UK.
Olivia discovered the joy of practicing the physical aspect of yoga, or asana, in her late teens. She started practicing yoga regularly in her early twenties, and decided train to teach yoga in 2004. She has been teaching in Oxford since 2006. She trained at triyoga in London and is British Wheel of Yoga Accredited.
Olivia teaches a focus on alignment, breath and flow. She aims to teach an understanding of the intricate workings behind the shapes that we make, thus enabling the student to experience a greater freedom within their body. Through working with the body and the breath, we then start to unravel the inner workings of our emotional, mental and subtle bodies, bringing greater balance and harmony in to our lives.
Olivia also teaches pregnancy yoga. Her pregnancy classes are aimed at strengthening the mother-to-be, preparing her to labour, and enabling her to soften and sensitise so that she can truly embrace the special stage of her life.
